How-to: Obtain User Consent Prior to Loading Videos (2-click video solution)

Displaying videos from YouTube and Vimeo on websites is a common practice used by many companies to create more engaging experiences for their visitors. While it is important to offer customers a great experience, it is also imperative to make sure your site visitors understand what's happening as they interact with your site. This is sometimes referred to as a 2-click video solution.

We have developed a visually engaging solution for this. In this blog post we show the solution we have created with screenshots, code snippets, and live examples.

1x2020 Digital Trends

Welcome to 2020! At 1xINTERNET we are really looking forward to an exciting year ahead.  One of the benefits of working with a variety of amazing clients, from different industries is that we can see firsthand where companies are investing their time and energy when it comes to their digital strategy. In this blogpost we share what digital trends we see for the year 2020 and where our focus will be.

Headless applications with Drupal and React in 2020

In this blog post I share our thoughts and assumptions on headless applications with Drupal in 2020.

Last year we launched more than 20 new webprojects based on Drupal 8 and/or React. Most of the projects have one thing in common: they combine standard Drupal server-side rendering with client side React applications. This is what is sometimes referred to as progressive decoupling. Only a few applications we have built in 2019 are completely headless.

Be the community

I mentioned on Twitter two weeks ago how fantastic DrupalCon Europe was, and after more thought it’s my favorite DrupalCon to date! Not because I got to parody Disney songs wearing Spandex (which I did), and not because I gave an impassioned session about my love of Pattern Lab integration (which I didn't this time around), but for the first time I feel like I have made a vital difference to the community. I didn't contribute though song or sessions or code, instead I was able to connect people to solve problems.

We are Makers!

At “DriesNote”, last Tuesday at DrupalCon Amsterdam, Dries Buytaert, the founder and project lead of Drupal, spoke about his vision of contributors and sponsors and their impact on Drupal’s future. Time and speed are the biggest factors looking ahead. If we want to want to see Drupal continue to grow, and be competitive in the open source market, we need to make sure all aspects are nurtured. This should ensure that both beginners and experts choosing Drupal will enjoy the experience.

1xINTERNET wins two Splash Awards

The International Splash Awards 2019 took place on the 28th of October in Amsterdam. The event was well organised and team 1xINTERNET had a great evening. It was nice to meet our colleagues from all over Europe and see the great selection of work being created with Drupal. Over 75 projects from 13 countries were submitted so the jury had a big task choosing the finalists.

1xINTERNET with three nominations for the Splash Awards

The third international Splash Awards are taking place next Monday night in Amsterdam. This night we will celebrate the best Drupal projects from 2019 with our colleagues from all over Europe. We are very happy at 1xINTERNET to be nominated for three of our projects and grateful at the same time for our amazing clients.

We encourage you to contribute with us

At 1xINTERNET we strongly support contribution to Drupal. In our everyday work we send in patches and fixes, we organize events, we have built distributions and we keep telling our people about the importance of taking part.

Using Design Systems in Website Projects

We have been building design systems for many clients in the past two years. In this blog post I want to outline why using design systems has become so popular when building websites and other digital properties.

The challenges many large organizations face is to maintain a consistent branding, corporate design, and usage of approved interaction components across all digital properties. With digital properties I mean all websites, internal systems, social media profiles, email footers, etc.
