Iceland, I have always wanted to go to Iceland!
One of the remarkable things about 1xINTERNET is that our group of employees comes from all over the world. Part of our group works and live in Iceland and for many years we have serviced wonderful Icelandic customers with great joy and satisfaction. In March we opened a new office in Iceland to ensure even better service to our Icelandic customers. Since then the earth has not really stopped shaking in Iceland with endless earthquakes and now a volcanic eruption!
Iceland is an incredibly powerful island and you never really know what to expect when you wake up in the morning.
On March 19, 2021, an eruption began in FAGRADALSFJALL (yes, almost as easy as Eyjafjallajökull to pronounce) after three weeks of very strong earthquakes. This is the first eruption on the Reykjavík peninsula since 1240 or for 781 years and the first eruption in the Fagradalsfjall for about 6000 years.
Yesterday we decided to move the 1xINTERNET office into nature, spring is arriving and time to enjoy the weather! Hrannar, the project manager of 1xINTERNET in Iceland, decided to take some pictures for us and finish the working day there by a shine from the eruption.
No one knows how long this eruption will last, could be weeks and could be years. Next summer, the DrupalCamp Summer solstice will be held in Iceland, so there is a slight chance that we can go and see the eruption together. Good place for a keynote maybe?

This was the third time Hrannar went to see this magnificent power of nature and says it's always as amazing. "It's always different and the sounds are crazy".
Now we just need to wait for all of our team to get vaccinated so we can get on a plane and check this out ourselves!
