How Conil stole our hearts

As some of you may know, this year DrupalCamp Spain was held in a very special place, Conil de la Frontera, which is a wonderful little town on Spain's southern Atlantic coast. It has large, sandy beaches that go as far as the eye can see, and since it's a small town, it does not have the inconvenience of masses of people flocking to it that you find on other places on the coast of Spain. The food is fantastic, and the weather is nice all year long. A guest post by Manuel Garcia.

I attended the event and sincerely fell in love with the place, as did many other attendees. So much so that this past summer me and my family decided to spend our vacation there.

We were going for a quiet time to recharge, and we did just that. Parts of the beach are perfect for children, there is a small river ending right there, in a long, flat area which makes it a great spot to relax reading a book, while the little ones to go nuts in the water, playing with other children, etc.

Surfing and other water sports are also very popular as there is plenty of space, and the waves are consistent across long areas of the beach. My kids spent a good part of our stay there body surfing, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Just think about it, you get up in the morning, have a nice breakfast at your local bar (where you’ll get treated like family), go in the office (in shorts and sandals), work for a few hours, enjoy fresh seafood for lunch, finish work, and take a 5 minute walk to the beach for the rest of the evening. Sounds like heaven to me!

So if you’re looking for a change, consider Conil, but watch out, it will steal your heart!
